Cursor stuck going up.

When I turn on my ti-84, the cursor on my screen is stuck constantly going up. It scrolls all the way through my previous calculations, and then gets stuck at the top when there is nothing else to scroll through. When I click on the down arrow, the cursor appears to flash normally as opposed to rapidly, but I still can’t type anything else into my calculator. Is this some sort of keyboard error? None of my keys are stuck, so maybe it’s soemthing deeper in the calculator.

Although this certainly sounds like a stuck button you can try some software fixes.

Try performing a RAM reset by removing the batteries (including the backup battery) then reinserting them.

If that doesn’t help try to reinstall the OS. This is more complex so I’ll refer you to a video tutorial here.

If that doesn’t work, it’s most definitely a hardware error. Try opening up the calculator an checking if there are any stuck buttons or dirt on the keyboard. You can find some good troubleshooting and replacement tutorials here.
