Hi,

Can you hear the fan running at all?

Try connecting an external monitor to the laptop’s HDMI port and check if there is a display showing on it at all when you turn on the laptop.

If there is a display showing then you can use the external monitor so that you can “see” how to transfer your data, in the usual manner, to an USB flash drive or USB HDD connected to your laptop. You cannot transfer anything to a monitor, it is just a display unit, not a data storage unit.

After this you can attend to the problem of your laptop screen not working.

If there is no display on the external monitor or the laptop is not working at all then there may be a problem with the GPU or the motherboard.

You can always remove the SSD (Solid State Drive) from the laptop and connect it to another PC as a secondary drive. Search online how to install a laptop SSD (or HDD same principle maybe different connector types) in another PC to recover data from the SSD

Here’s a link to the service manual for your laptop. Scroll to p.40 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the SSD.

First of all I assume you are wanting to transfer the files from this laptop to another computer?

You can do a file transfer 2 ways. The first is via putting the files on an external storage device (USB flash drive, External HDD) and then plugging it in the new system and moving the files onto there. Another is to physically remove the drive from this laptop and plug it in the system to retrieve the files directly from the drive.

If the laptop turns on but shows no display, you may be able to try method one. The laptop unfortunately does not have a full HDMI/VGA port to connect to a monitor. This means that first off you will need to get an adapter from Micro HDMI to full HDMI/VGA/DVI just to connect it to a monitor. Here is a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable I found on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Adapter-Su... Using this you can use the laptop as if it were a desktop and gain full access to windows to transfer files to an external storage device.

If the laptop does NOT turn on. You will need to use method 2. Using this iFixit guide: Lenovo Yoga 700-11ISK Solid State Drive Replacement You will be able to remove the SSD from the machine and put it into an adapter so you can plug it into another system via USB. Here is a link to a product I found on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/QNINE-Adapter-Nee...

You can then plug in the drive to a new system and go through the system folders to locate exactly which files you need/want.
