Turns on but screen doesn't

I think these had a common problem with the ribbon that connects the screen in the top half to the motherboard in the bottom half… if I'm thinking about the same netbook u needed to replace the ribbon to get it to work properly or fiddle with it and squeeze it etc to get it to work temporarily
Basically try replacing the ribbon it's quite a fiddly job though

Test ram in my experience when ram is not functioning well it will turn on without screen .

Can you give us some more details about what you might have done to your device to cause it do this?

Any beeps or pattern LED flashing?
when you power on the computer, observe on the HDD LED if there is any activity.
when you hook to an external display.... do you get display?
you might need to invoke some key to project out to the external display.
else
another test you can do is to test with another known working RAM first

Do you get a display showing on an external monitor connected to your laptop via the vga port, when you press the F4 key, when the laptop has been turned on and presumably booted into Windows?
