Touch ID problems after screen replacement
So i did a screen replacement. The connector on the long flex cable that runs along the shield plate was glued very hard to the front panel and took me 30 minutes to get off, but when it came loose it had a slight “bend” near the connector which was caused by me removing the connector. I could not see any tears or broken pins, i checked with a magnifying glass. I used the original home button on the new screen.
Now the touch ID is not working, the home button seems to work as it should except the touch id function. I opened it up again and reseated the home button connector, but still the same. Before i did the screen replacement i did remove the battery connector.
So how likely is it that the long “shield plate” cable causes this touch ID error?
And is that long flex cable also paired with that specific motherboard or is it only the actual home button?
And how likely is a itunes restore going to fix this problem (if its not the cable which is broken)? I really don´t want to do a restore since i´m at iOS 10.1 and would like to stay there, unless i know that will fix the problem.
P.S. Now when i think about it this same problem happened also when i did the exact same job on a iphone 6 earlier, never cared to try to find a solution that time though. So same thing happened 2 times on different iphones. That phone had also ios 10.
Am i missing some step here?
