Does not turn on

When I hit the power button it does not turn on, not even the fans or the power indicator light. Press the power button for ten seconds and nothing probe with another cable and nothing just does not turn on.

Update (09/27/2019)

I have been running Catalina Public Beta. I got a notice that an update was available, so I updated. When I came back a few hours later, my Mac Mini was shut down. No light or noise on pushing power button. Verified power available and then contacted Apple support. They verified it was still under warranty until November and made an appointment at the local store. Taking it in today and will follow up.

Sounds like your power supply is blown. As your system is so new it might be covered under warranty. I would get to an Apple Store or authorized service center to get it fixed ASAP as I’m sure your coverage is about to expire! Even if its a few weeks out don’t dismiss it! Apple will let it slide,

But! You need to get them on a good day Tuesday mid morning it the best! The stress of the week end is over. Be polite don’t get angry! Be sad (maybe even a tear rolling down your cheek) but be firm! If you get no don’t settle ask to speak to a manager and if that fails talk to the regional service manager.

In any case the power supply is not too hard to replace. Review the Mac mini Late 2018 Teardown We don’t have any discreet guide for it yet.

I had the same problem TWICE! After shutdown my mac mini, it just won’t turn on. I took it to genius bar, they changed the motherboard to fix it finally.

I don’t think the motherboard was totally broken but some chips may too fragile to keep the system up for a very long time. I mean months.

For data in your system, because SSD was soldered on chip, A Time machine is A MUST!

Holy moly. Same for me, I just purchased a PS on eBay, but it doesn’t do it either. I guess my motherboard is to blame. Two months after the warranty end :’(

I successfully restored bridgeOS. Don’t have to take it to genius bar ever.
