Might want to try installing some cleaner software (like Ccleaner for example) via the Google play store, to get rid of unnecessary temp files, hibernate apps etc to see if that makes any difference. Also see if your unit supports booting into a Safe Mode to again, notice if their are any significant improvements. It also may be a case that update(s) you have received or new program(s) you have installed are causing system wide issues. Sometimes too, a Factory Reset (wipes all your data and returns the unit to it's factory setting and operating software) is the only option. If it finally boils down to doing a Factory Reset (consult your Owner's Manual on how to do this) make sure that anything like photo's, emails, address books etc are backed up to a trusted medium.
