The screen started flickering and its maximum brightness has slowly diminished to the point where I can barely tell that it is on. I tried finicking with the display cable to ensure it was not being pinched anywhere, but that did not help. Are there any possible solutions other than the LCD dying?

Well the other potential causes is the screen connector coming loose from behind the display. Other than that it would be the display cable and worse case screen needing to be replaced.
Most of these touch screen laptops have clipped in screen assemblies so they shouldn’t be too hard to remove with the help of video guides.
