Your MacBook Pro uses a different architecture than using a North and South Bridge chips which is often used in desktop systems at the time.
Here a more integrated solution was used based on a Platform Controller Hub (PCH) chip In your system it also included the dedicated GPU from NVIDIA (nForce PCH)
