When connected to power, the device flashes red light 15 times and then doesn’t charge. If i depress the power button once during the flash sequence, the red light goes steady and the device charges normally.
Is the 15 flashes an error code? It’s not mentioned anywhere by Plantronics.

Does it always consistently flash 15 times? If not, sounds to me like you have a borked USB cable.
I've also had an issue in the past where the light went solid red and didn't charge. I figured out that the cable between the ears was damaged and had to order a new headset
