wont turn off of sync

My iPod is locked up. the screen stays lit all the time. it wont sync to the computer. What should i do

While connecting the iPod to the computer, hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys in Windows (CMD + Option keys on a Mac). This will stop the iPod from auto sync’ing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 3 and 25 seconds depending on your computer.

Then you can right click on the iPod icon in iTunes’ source column and select iPod Options, then check the box that says “Manually manage songs and playlists”. You can now manage your library without losing any songs on the iPod.

you should try scanning it for virus. Happened to my iPod before, it won't eject.Turns out to be the virus inside the memory is distrupting the ejection

I got windows xp professional and can't have itunes for some reason so i went to music match jukebox and it did download some music, but now when i try to had more music while the iPod is connected it shows the new songs, but when you disconnect it they are gone, so i would like to know how can i keep new songs on my iPod, or i just need a higher windows or more advance and get only itunes for this????

I would probably make sure Im downloading them to the device and not not just using it for a Media player , or clear some of the old ones out store them on a flash drive . Make sure you have enough memory the right file system and it's completing sync.🤔🤔
