A weird monitor issue (white flashing)

Recently my monitor started flashing white when it’s being set to refresh rate lower than 75hz (the max possible refresh rate for it), basically the image disappears, screen goes black, then flashes white and image comes back. Changing the resolution or anything else besides rate doesn’t help, the flashes are consistent and also have a timing, not just happening randomly. That might sound like an inverter issue but the backlight always remains there. The source is also not the problem because this happens even when the monitor is not connected anywhere. What could be the reason to it and what are the possible fixes?

@dmrtr what exact model is your monitor? Which refresh rates does it work best? Nah, not an inverter issue at all.

@oldturkey03 it's an S24R350. currently it doesn't flash at 75hz but on 60 or 50 it comes back (and the problem was growing slowly on lower rates for around a week, I used it at 60 earlier without any problems). my guess for now is that there are failing capacitors somewhere but not sure whether should I check PSU or mainboard.

I'd be focusing on the mainboard. REason for that is because you mentioned that the screen is flashing white. I take this as the backlight staying on but the video signal is flashing
