So basically I haven't used my iPad in about 2 years or so. I recently found it in my drawer. I tried charging it and sometimes it gets to the low battery and black background screen. I left it for about 2 hours or so, and it didn't work, so I tried another charger, and it still didn't work.
TL;DR: Found my old iPad, put it in charge and it didn't work, even with a different charger (waited for around 2 hours).

It is incredibly common for the charge port to be dirty.
Try cleaning it (carefully) with a toothpick or a toothbrush and some alcohol preferably isopropyl.
That said there's still a good chance it's the battery

Are you using a charger with at least 2a output? Phone chargers are useless for iPads. Also after two years the battery may be beyond help. Maybe could do with a new one if you want it working again.

If it has been sitting idle for some number of years it would not be unheard of for the battery to be worn out. Lithium Ion batteries don’t like being left dead for long periods of time and is so discharged it just isn’t functional any longer.
Make sure when its charging you have it connected to the original charger, or one rated for at least 10 watts. If it is an Apple charger it will say on the brick. Otherwise wattage is Voltage x Amperage. iPads can take a good hour to power on from that level of dead if they are going to power on at all.
If that doesn’t work, then a new battery is in order.
