Cannot meet people online using webcam

Hi there, I have an issue on my macbook. My logitech webcam isn't detected automatically, therefore I cannot get online with my girlfriend :( Is it because I am using old macbook with OSX lion?

Do you have another computer you could try it with? Also, what Mac do you have?
