Paper not feeding after replacing roller

I replaced the rollers on my P1102W and now it seems to shut down immediately when I turn it on. Spins for 2 seconds and instantly the error lights up. I dissembled it twice to see if everything is plugged properly or if I missed something but I can't seem to see anything wrong. Mind you....it worked perfectly before I opened it up :)) Also... I'm an IT tech...this is not my first time repairing things though it is my first attempt at "fixing" a printer.

@nick Are you talking about these?

@catani84 Yes. The "D" part of the pad needs to be facing the paper tray.

The separation pads go out as well as the rollers most of the time, the limit is 10-15k pages on these "compact" disposable HPs in most cases before it becomes an issue. It can be done, but if the 1012 I had years ago is a clue you need to pull a decent amount of the printer apart. It's best practice to do both at the same time, even on other brands like Lexmark when they have a separation pad and roller.

The part can be found here: https://www.precisionroller.com/paper-fe...

Newer printers from others like Canon and Lexmark did away with the pad on newer models like the C3326 and CS series, but the old ones sill rely on it. HP is the last separation pad holdout :/. I wish they'd get rid of it like everyone else.

Update (05/20/23)

@catani84 The bar where the parts lie is in the "jammed" position. You need to turn the bar with the pickup roller into it matches the idle position.

No no... that's not it. Like I said....it's something I did...it worked perfectly before I dissembled it. So definitely it's something I did or missed when putting it back together. If you watch the clip you see that the paper feeder motor doesn't even start. It instantly faults

You know what lt was...the big white connector was slightly pulled and wasn't touching properly. I dissembled it for the fourth time and finally realized that it wasn't all the way in. Lesson learned. Thanks for trying to help. I'll give you the proper answer 😉
