Everything works except display

I have a A1407 and display is just black. Audio, webcam and USB ports all work and is detected fine on a connected Mac.

There's no image showing when shining a light on the screen, so both backlight and pixels aren't on.

Have opened it up to check components and all looks ok. No bulging caps on power board.

Apparently screen was intermittently going black for about a year and now just stays black.

I have a thunderbolt cable but I don't think its compatible as it doesn't detect the monitor.

I have an A1419 Mac, can I test by swapping screen?
