2ds camera error has accured
My 2ds camera works in the AR CARDS app but not in the 3ds camera and quick cam menu

Sounds like the camera app itself is broken. Try safe mode. If that doesn't work, you'll probably have to factory reset it unless you have CFW.
If safe mode failed and you have CFW, you can try deleting the camera app, then updating the system to restore it. Launch FBI, then go to Titles > Nintendo 3DS Camera > Delete Title And Ticket. Press A to confirm, then update the console (you can use safe mode or the regular system update). The update will redownload and install the app, leaving you with a working camera

The 2ds I had, I had sold, thanks for the answer I will use this information if I come across this again. I will accept your answer since it “worked”
I did this, now instead of crashing it leaves a message saying "an error has occured, hold down the power button to reset" after reseting it still just has this message.
The error popup only happens when i try to use the inner camera, the outer works fine. I have a new 2ds xl.
