Game wont load / boot

My red Gameboy pocket won't load the game. I have 2 Gameboy pockets, red(broken) and blue (not broken). My problem is the game wont load once the title screen "Nintendo" comes on and chimes. After that nothing. The red Gameboy had battery acid corrosion, it didn't work at all, so I opened it up and cleaned it with IPA. Now this is where I'm at. I have swapped between the two Gameboys these parts. Battery terminals, Power Supply circuit board, Game Cartridge Slot, Blue Gameboy still works and red just the title screen. What else can I check / do?

It looks like pin 25's trace to the first VIA is not too healthy what do you think?

Hi Maurice!

Most likely a component has died on the motherboard due the corrosion… OR a trace has been damaged by it.

Please check the traces first with a loop, and also check the components to see if they are OK.

When you are not sure, please share some pictures with us!

Hi! Sorry for the late response! It does look like that the trace of pin 25 is damaged! I would repair this trace first! Do you have experience with repairing traces? Otherwise I can sent you a video! When the trace is repaired, please check with the multimeter for a continuity test to see if the pin is making good contact (you can also do this right now to see if the trace is damaged).
