Will my device still function?
I wanted to boot ubuntu on my pi and i completely erased the files on the sd card. later, i was applying heatsinks on my board and noticed a little brown something on my board under the "GPIO" text under the headers. At first it felt like dirt to me and i pulled it out and later i realized solder marks under it. I am extremely anxious to know whether my raspberry will still function or not, and whats the ic number. Also, is it possible to get it fixed?

I'm having a hard time visualizing the issue you're having with your board. Can you get some high resolution photos of the part you're talking about so we can see what you see?
