How to remove and open the viewfinder for cleaning

I recently picked one up from an estate sale and it looks like the viewfinder has bug molt inside. None of the guides currently available have steps for safely removing or opening the viewfinder. Has anyone done this?

Go to p.24 to view the disassembly procedure so that you can get to the EVF
