How to fix my left trigger

My wife and i was playing ready or not while in a fire fight and her controller left trigger stopped working and she couldnt aim anymore its her favorite controller she plays with is there any way of fixing the left trigger or do we need to buy a new controller?

You can always open up the device and see if anything is damaged or broken.
