Battery replaced not working

I have a a2779 MacBook Pro , I started getting a service battery warning last week and when I run out of power the mag safe started flashing orange and did not charge , I ordered a replacement off I fix it for the model, I fitted it this morning and when I plug the mag safe in now with the new battery installed I get no light and it does seem to charge, I tried to charge via usb c left it charging for 1 hour but nothing, can anyone help? Thanks in advance

A common issue is forgetting to set the ZIF latch from the Battery board or the cable./connector is damaged. Review Step 7 ~ 9 MacBook Pro 14" Early 2023 Battery Replacement here is the referee making sure the latch is not set, sliding in squarely the ribbon cable and carefully setting the latch so it's grabbed. Also check the battery side connection as well.

If the cable is damaged you'll need a replacement MacBook Pro 14" BMU Flex Cable - Apple P/N 923-08652
