Screen is cracked how to replace it

If you buy a genuine Samsung replacement screen, it's going to come already attached to the midframe. Then the process of replacing the screen becomes, remove the back, gut the old phone and move everything inside to the new screen+frame assembly. This sounds daunting, but it's actually not that bad, and is both the recommended method and easier and safer than trying to replace the screen alone. That's the method I suggest if you're not somewhat experienced with phone repairs. This video takes you step by step through the process.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the genuine Samsung part also comes with the battery pre-installed as well, but I could be wrong. You can, of course, save money by purchasing an aftermarket screen, which you can get either with or without the frame.

Should you wish to replace just the screen without the midframe, you'll need a completely different set of instructions. In that case, you only have to remove enough parts to access the display connector inside so you can unplug it, then you have to remove the old screen from the midframe. Note that I don't believe it's possible to remove the display from the frame without destroying it (it's glued down really well), but since you're replacing it anyway, it's all good. From my own experience working on Samsung phones, be careful when removing the back; it's glass, it's very thin, and breaks easily. After paying for a new back out of my own pocket because I broke the one on a friend's phone while replacing the screen, I learned by lesson; use alcohol, heat and lots of patience when taking off the back.
