What is this shielding?

Hi all!

I’m helping a friend with cleaning her laptop, but it looks like there is supposed to be some metal shielding here or something? It is definitely disintegrating here as there are little flaky parts all over the system. I want to replace it for her or something so it’s not a hazard.
