How can I change the thermal paste?

Hi Jake,
There is a guide on how to remove the heatsink and fan assembly here: Lenovo ThinkPad T490 Fan and Heat Sink Assembly Replacement - iFixit Repair Guide
After you remove the heatsink, clean up the heatsink and the CPU with a high percentage isopropyl alcohol and a lintfree cloth. Then use a small amount of paste on the CPU to replace. When you reattach the heatsink the paste will spread out and cover the CPU.
To finish out, reverse the guide and put everything back together.
