Synchronous Motor Replacement Part

I am replacing the synchronous motor in this tower fan model and have found a suitable replacement. However, the original motor has a white plastic arm attached to the motor by way of a hollow metal pin running perpendicular to the motor shaft.

How is this white plastic arm removed or where can I get a replacement?
