Years ago i tried to change the ON/HOLD slider on my psp E1000 and two of the 4 contact pads where sheared of the motherboard. Is there a way to fix it or bypass the slider to turn the device on and off?

It may be possible to glue the slider back down on the circuit board and wire jumpers to the pins, but we'd need to see what you're working with. Can you post some high resolution closeup photos of the switch and the place it's mounted on the circuit board? Hopefully we can identify the traces that need to be reconnected and suggest how you can get it working again.

Hi!

It also look damaged at the F4001 side.

I think it would be easier to replace the motherboard in this case.

You could try to scratch it carefully there where the broken pads are and see if you can reveal the copper.

Cannot see easily where the traces are... So I'm afraid a motherboard replacement would be way easier to get the job done.

Replacing the motherboard is out of the question due to the high prices (it would be better to buy a new, working PSP).

The only option would be to scratch around the torn pins and be lucky enough to find the contact tracks. If you find the contact tracks, it would be possible to rebuild the new pins with UV mask and new pins or a very thin cable. This isn't a simple operation and requires a lot of skill. You also need to know the board well to be able to test the newly rebuilt pins with a multimeter, but so far I haven't been able to find any wiring diagrams for the board online.

I can find PSP 1000 motherboards for around $20. Didn’t found the PSP E1000 motherboard so far. But correct, fixing the motherboard is always cheaper.
