I replaced the dc power barrel connector on my cricut. But when disconnecting the rinbon cable I broke the plastic clamp connected to the board and cant get the cable to stay in place.

You'll need to open the controller, disconnect the old ribbon cable from the ZIF connector, and carefully install the new one in the same orientation.
