1 The sub-display does not turn on.
The other day, I bought a used Googlepixel fold.
It was comfortable and I liked it very much for a while, but from one time on, I couldn't hold the outer screen at all. Even if it was closed, the inside was always on, and even if the notification came, the inside screen was glowing even though it was closed.
It does not fall or submerge, and if you try to forcefully start the sub-display using a fold switcher, the power will drop.
I tried to take a lot of logs with adb, but apparently the sub-display itself was not physically loaded. In addition, the part that normally reads the opening and closing and gives the angle is not displayed well. So I opened the inside once and tried to put it in again, but the symptoms have not changed....
In this case, will it be cured if I replace the sub-display with a flex cable? Or is it due to the disconnection of the internal flexible cable? For the time being, the battery on the sub-display side has been read, so I wonder if there is any disconnection of the flexible cable on the hinge.
If anyone is familiar with it, please help.

Ah the joys of a used device, I just bought a 15 pro refurbished and what a fun experience...until it inevitably breaks.
Little spiel aside, these foldables are hella complex so finding the exact thing wrong would be hard. With the way it's stuck on it sounds like something has been pierced internally ie a flex cable like you said, or the magnets that presumably hold it shut are de magnetised so the device can't tell if it's shut? That's what I would logically think Google has done with this so perhaps it's those magnets.
It's kind of like a wallet case where when you shut it on the phone it goes off (or some kind of funky always on) and open it it comes back alive.

While there are individual differences in second-hand, it must have been very expensive that the 15Pro was broken, and it's a pity...
Regarding fold, I certainly didn't care about the magnetic sensor! Thank you very much!! However, even if it is a malfunction of the magnetic sensor, I think the Google logo will be displayed on the outer screen at startup. And if it was a magnetic sensor failure, would it be possible to force the screen to switch and fail to restart? In the first place, this generation of Pixel Fold is not very responsive to Google, so it is really troublesome because it does not officially deal with the cases so far....

I didn't catch the part you said power drops in your original post sorry bout that, then perhaps you may be onto something with the theory of an internal flex cable being torn or stretched too far. Problem is it would be a pain to find what it is without isolating every minute component within so might be best to get a whole new frame and see what goes on. Alternatively if you're able to take the whole thing apart out of the subframe and somehow get it running outside it's subframe (it would take some expert skills that i definitely don't have) you could test and see if it does the same thing when bending any given flex cable to isolate it to that flex cable. However you're unlikely to get parts for that flex cable given it's so niche.

To be honest, I don’t think I can identify the exact cause by myself anymore, so I decided to order a replacement outer display first.
If the problem still remains after replacing it, I’ll assume the issue is somewhere in the hinge flex cable or related hardware. I also found a hinge with the flex cable included on AliExpress for about $2, so I’ll probably order that next.
I also checked the sensors more closely. The proximity sensor doesn’t seem to respond, but the magnetic sensor is working normally. That makes me wonder if the problem is somewhere in the outer display assembly or its connections.
If replacing the outer display doesn’t fix it, I’ll continue investigating and see what else I can find.
