2021 F-150: Can I use clear silicone to keep the taillight in place?

Year, model? Using one model for example (2020 Ltd rwd), there are four mounting points (highlighted in yellow); two metal balls that are pressed into a plastic socket in the chassis and two plastic columns for screw mounting. Click on image to open a larger view of it.

You might have striped screw mounts and if the ball sockets might be spring loaded. appropriate lube.

The entire tail light assembly popping out of its (broken?) mounts or the outside lens? Was this a result of damage?

Due to damage. The whole taillight doesn't come out just one side of it.
