Windshield fluid runs intermittently

Hard to say, Denis, we'll need to do some troubleshooting to figure out what's going on.

My first thought is to figure out if the issue is with the motor or the plumbing. The motor part is fairly easy; just open up the hood and listen for it running. On a day when it's working, have someone operate it while you listen so you know what to look for. Then on the next occasion when it's not working, do the same thing.

If you can hear the motor in both situations, then you're looking at an issue with the hoses going from the tank to the hood. If the motor isn't running, then you'll need to check the wiring and the motor itself for problems.

Okay, so chances are this is something to do with the tubing running from the bottom of the washer fluid tank to the windshield nozzles. You'll need to start at one end and find where the fluid stops coming out when the motor is running. My own preference would be to start at the motor, pull off the hose and verify it's pumping fluid.

If it is, plug the hose back in and follow it to the next connection. Unplug it and verify you have a good flow; continue until you get to the nozzles. Somewhere along the way there's a blockage and you'll find it sooner or later. The nozzles themselves sometimes get blocked up, or you might have a loose connection along the line that's letting the pressure out intermittently.

If there's no fluid coming out of the motor but it is running, then you would either have a bad motor or the inlet to the motor is clogged. Try flushing the container out with clean water; depending on the construction you should be able to remove the motor from the container and test it separately.

As I mentioned earlier, that would be my preferred way to do it, but that assumes you can access the washer tank. The problem here is that it's a bit of a pain in the a$$ to get to; you have to pull the fender liner from the wheel well to get to it. Alternatively, you might start at the other end and work your way back, saving the hard part for last if needed. Pull the hose from each nozzle one at a time and see if you have a good flow. You might need to use a needle to clean out the nozzles if they're clogged, but otherwise keep working backward until you get to the motor.
