Below is general information about the 4th Generation Apple AirPort Extreme.
The 4th Generation AirPort Extreme Base Station (Model Number A1354) is a wireless access point for home, school, or small business. It offers 802.11n standard Wi-Fi access for Mac computers, PCs and Wi-Fi devices. The AirPort Extreme can choose among channels on two different frequencies (2.4GHz and 5.8GHz), and incorporates a USB port, allowing any device in the vicinity access to an external hard drive or printer.
The 4th generation AirPort Extreme is very distinguishable from previous models. The previous generation was oval shaped with a dark gray Apple Logo on the top. This newer model's appearance is that of a thin square with a completely white finish. The newer model is capable of 1Gbit/s transfers and has three LAN-capable Ethernet ports.
