Background
The Canon PowerShot G3 is the third iteration in the Canon's G-Series portable cameras. The G3 model continued with the G-series' distinctive flip-out and secondary, top mounted LCD screens.
The G3 has 4 mega-pixel resolution and built in flash. It is USB compatible and uses compact flash data storage. Unique to the G3 and its successors, Canon added a built in neutral density filtering, making pictures taken with these models to be less obscured by excessive light conditions.
Identification
You can identify the PowerShot G3 by the matte gray finish over the battery and Compact Flash memory covers and around the outside ring of the lens housing. While only a minor difference, the other cameras in Canon's PowerShot G series do not have this characteristic
