Background
HP first introduced the Pavilion zd8000 in 2004 and discontinued the model in 2008. The most common problem is a screen display malfunction. This malfunction involves lines appearing across the screen with roughly half of the screen going black. Another common problem is overheating.
Identification
You can find the model of your laptop next to the speakers below the screen's HP logo. It should read "HP Pavilion zd80XX", where XX can be anywhere from 00 to 80.
