Remove the Battery as a safety precaution
There is a latch identified in the picture. By sliding this latch to the left, the battery is released from a lock position.

Use a Philips screwdriver to unscrew one screw holding the disk drive to the laptop.
In the photo there is a covering missing from another piece of the laptop but this will not impact the disk drive.

Slide (pull) the disk drive out from the laptop and place it off to the side.
The disk drive is the silver container as seen in the photo.
