Use this guide to aid in the removal and replacement of the speaker to any HP Pavilion x360 14m-cd0005dx laptop. Replace the speaker if sound no longer plays from the device’s speakers. It may also need to be replaced if sounds played are heavily distorted. For more information as to whether the keyboard should be replaced, look at this troubleshooting guide.

The speaker is an essential part of any laptop. When replacing the speaker, it is possible other software may need to be re-downloaded or reinstalled. If the speaker needs to be replaced but isn’t, there will be little to no performance loss on the computer systems. It may be more cost and time-efficient to purchase an external audio device, like a pair of headphones or a set of external speakers. However, do note, they can impact the ease of mobility of this device.

    • When removing the fan, there will be an adhesive strip attached to the bottom. There may be some resistance as the device is being removed. Use a spudger to hold the adhesive down during removal.
