Battery life became erratic, would have been covered under Apple's extended battery warranty for certain Iphone5's but the phone had gotten wet so Apple won't work on it.

It took about an hour or so but that's because I poke around on these projects while I watch TV in the evening. The display had funny patterns on it when I first assembled the phone because I didn't have the connectors re-seated all the way. Whent back in, clicked them back in place and now it's fine. I had to bend the tab at the end of the battery cable, not the connector but the tab/cable coming off the connector to fit the case. I used the old one as the model. The tool kit worked fine. I am confused about a clear plastic sleeve wrapped around the new battery that the old battery didn't have. I don't know if it was packing material since the old one didn't have it or if it was meant to stay on because it was well fitted and glued to itself. I left it on. Previous reports warned how hard it would be to pull the display off with the suction cup. I guess with my expectations bent that way it seemed easier than I expected.

ifixit has a video and a step by step text guide with photos. Definitely use the step by step guide primarily, it has instructions and information skipped in the video. I ran across a YouTube video of a pro repair lady showing how to fix battery pry damage in an iphone which she gets all the time. Be very careful about getting the battery out. follow all caution notes. Maybe even look up a few videos looking for those that specifically make a big deal out of avoiding pry damage. I performed the repair on top of a white wash cloth since I don't have the recomended magnetic mat so I could set down little screws and they would stay in place.
