Hi, nope it is a sealed unit with no switch, just a straight 12 volt, I have used it for many years with the correct 5amp fuse but had to fit a 10amp when my local supplier had no 5amps for me, he said it would be okay, I guess he was wrong. I left the charger on for 24 hours and this was obviously too long. We live in a country town and our surges are sometimes quite high and quite frequent so I guess that would have been another challenge for my little charger to deal with. I will know in future to follow instructions a little more diligently, thanks for all the help, what a great site, I found it ogg Gaia Vinces book about the Anthropocine, the best part of the book. regards bubbles
