I have ordered a complete display replacement for the iphone se. Now I have run into the same problem, that the front mic is not working. I replaced the original sensor cable, and now it is working. I am wondering, if this was a similar issue ?
First step is to remove bottom by unscrewing 3 screws. Second step is to remove the button covers. There is a plastic locking tab which you can unlock, doing so will allow you to remove the buttons with some force. You will find 3 screws below the buttons. Unscrew them. Now you can take a spudger to seperate the remaining 2 mouse housings. Voila, you are done.
