Well, that might work, but I think the job done on it seems to be dodgy. There's no other way to lift the display? Couldn't the hair dryer actually damage the phone? I'm trying to find out if I can remove the glass without the display following up, lift the display out separately, get new adhesive for the glass, or possibly if I need to get new glass too. That's a bit expensive though. I saved $20 on the glass repair, but paying for it now instead. :-/
If the "metal tooth" is on your keyboard and not part of the key, then it might be hard to fix a new key on here. Which would mean to replace the whole keyboard. I haven't had the opportunity to take apart a newer keyboard yet so I'm not familiar with how they look inside, but I just got a new key for an old powerbook g4 from powerbookmedic.com. Perhaps you can find your key for your keyboard there and if possible you could replace it or the keyboard. I haven't checked here at ifixit either, so please do.
Strictly speaking, there’s no absolute need to remove the heat sink, unless you need to clean and re-apply some cooling past. The steps concerning the left speaker and the microphone following this step in this guide, can be done without it.
