Are you stating the laptop successfully powers on only when plugged into power or only on battery? This may be a faulty battery or power supply among other hardware issues.

더 읽어보기There should be a Sensor built into the latch to open and close the lid. If you depress the sensor manually, does the error go away? If this is the case, just replace the sensor/latch.
더 읽어보기You can jump the BIOS with a paperclip for a lost password, or remove the battery and CMOS battery for 15-20 minutes and power on to bypass it. Sometimes a default password will be set, you can Google the default BIOS passwords for the motherboard, mostly 12345.
더 읽어보기Without testing, I dont know if it would be the CMOS battery; I have had plenty of laptops working with the CMOS removed. I would recommend the first step woutld be connecting to an external monitor to see if it is operational. Without the onboard display, it should still function and may point to your error or the onboard video card or display ribbon connector.
