Modifying storage up to 128 gb?

Hi, I currently have an iPhone 4S 64 GB and an iPod Classic (160 GB obviously) but I'm about to become an Android user and I don't want to miss all my apps, so I want to buy the new iPod Touch.

The thing here is that my library is way too big for 64 GB, and I know that I have several options like iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive and Box for more storage but wouldn't be easier to have an iPod Touch with 128GB storage?

So forget about my current devices and let me ask this...

Is there a way to modify the capacity of the iPod? I don't care if I have to rip it apart and lose my warranty to carefully install a new 128 GB flash.

I pledged this project on kickstarter, its only for iPhone and hasent been released yet, but it looks promising, there may be an iPod Touch model down the track.

Fernando, this would only be possible if you could find the right NAND IC. It is very unlikely that you will find one that has the same physical property. The IC would have to fit the circuit board since it is a SMD components that would require a reflow of the existing board. You would need the IC and the template that fits the logic board. OF course, even then it might not work since the firmware may not accept the higher storage and mat not write to it.

This might be a matter to look into. If there isn't a software barrier, then anyone dedicated enough could you use their reflow ovens with the correct memory.
