Problem began with touch screen going crazy intermittently. Then right side became difficult to use, now that side is completely non-responsive. This makes it impossible to even unlock the phone. Which part of the phone contains the touch sensor? The glass/digitizer or the LCD screen itself?

Maybe there is something wrong with the flex cable of digitizer touch screen. You might have to replace the touch screen. hope you can find the new screen and its cost from here
