my kindle was fine when I switched it off, but will not turn on again. I have tried this with the mains connection on & off. When pressing the on/off button, the green light comes on, briefly, then --- nothing!
The charging light seems to work, but the kindle will simply not boot! Any suggestions?

I had the same problem as you.All you need to do is hold in the start button for 20 seconds and it will reboot the kindle and it will reload everything.

Worked for me! I think my initial problem was I left the kindle battery to drain for too long. I need to remember to charge it. Thank you!

i had the same Problem with a kindl. Disconnect the battery from the logic board, wait for about 2 minutes and connect the battery to the logic board. This helped me...

After watching fixit so knew how to take back off ,I followed advice about disconnecting battery did this left for few minute.....now have a working kindle again.
can you direct me to get the instructions for removing the back please as i have the same problem.

I fixed it by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. I followed this tutorial: Kindle 4 Screen Replacement until step 2, then reattached the battery and reassembled the back.
