How to wire a push button horn? 2002 Lancer

My horn is gone in the steering wheel so while I save up to get it fixed I need a horn in the meantime.

So i have a button and two wires positive and negative.

Someone told me positive from the switch to the horn and negative from switch to batery, but it didn't work. Cos apparently the horn is always grounded.

There is power running to the horn.

Any help is greatly appriciated I have been trying for two months.

Connect a multimeter to the horn relay. When you push the horn button you should see that the relay gets excited and closes the contacts to the horn. Do you know where the relay is and do you have a meter?

No idea wat a multimeter is so probs so r have one.

you may want to test the horn to see if its ok you may not have a bad switch you may have a bad horn

By the way the horn is grounded and only needs power. to your switch run a positive and from there run a wire to your horn

You need to wire in a relay. The switch will not carry the current needed. Run positive from the switch to terminal 85 on the relay. Ground the switch to the body near the switch. Run a wire from terminal 86 to ground (negative). Run battery power into terminal 87 on the relay and run from terminal 30 to the horn.

Hi,

If the horn button on the steering wheel is not literally broken have you checked that the horn fuse and horn relay are both OK.

I may be considered over the hill but I can still read small print, but this is ridiculous. Make it LARGER so that we can read it without a Magnifying

glass. Please.

If you hover the cursor over the image there is a magnifying glass symbol. Click on that and the image enlarges. Click on the enlarged image and it enlarges even further.
