1 device wont turn on
why does my device shut itself down immediately, even though the battery is new

Panasonic Camcorder SDR-H100, LCD monitor will turn the power On only when partially open (about 30 degrees) past that to 90 degrees, power go Off; then I have to close the LCD monitor, disconnect the battery and re-install, then open the LCD monitor partially (30 deg.) to turn the power On, and if I open all the way to 90 deg. power go Off.
