No backlight screen is dark

My iMac is A1418 2013 MF883 LM215WF3 (SD)(D1) 21.5".

I installed new screen display and have same issue

I shine a flashlight at an angle at the display and see the faint image of the desktop and icons. How do I fix the backlight?

Which is it? The CFL's or the power inverter on the iMac 21.5" 2013 model.

This model uses LED's for the backlight and the power is supplied via a ribbon cable from the logic board.

Review this IFIXIT guide: iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2805 Display Replacement. Jump to Step 20. Make sure the cable is correctly inserted.

Use a magnifier to inspect the pins of the cable and the socket as they could be damaged. If they look OK, you'll need to do a detailed inspection of the logic board as something has likely blown.
