1 Why is my power button not functioning
my phones power button wont let me turn my phone on and I don't know what to do

Hold down the power button and Volume down simultaneously. Hold for about three seconds then release both. You will not see anything, but now try the power button. Phone should power on. Also, go into Settings>Gestures>Double Tap and enable that feature. Doubling tapping the screen avoids the physical power button just in case problem pops up again. Good luck.

It does help because you can turn on/off display that way without using the power button. For initially turning on (in order to change the settings), you can connect it to power.
