laptop work but blank screen
when i try to boot it up it starts but the screen stays blank what are the possible solutions??

@tetzel , johann, Try hooking up an external monitor, if external monitor works probable laptop display issue, corrupt driver, bad connection on ribbon cable, bad display. If external monitor not working could be graphics card issue. Below link tells how to hook up external monitor to help trouble shoot your laptop, the 3rd link and other Acer forums on the net, addressing Blank/black screen talk about the Bios becomes corrupt and needing addressed. Take out the battery. Press power button for a minute. Then put battery back in again and power up. Repeat couple of times if necessary.

Can you see any mouse or anything on the screen ?
It might be very dull so you might have to really look for it.

Hi,
Does the screen 'light up' or stay black? If it stays 'black' try shining a torch at an angle close to the screen and see if you can see the desktop display once it has booted up. If so it could be a backlighting problem.
Try connecting an external monitor and see if there is a display on it when you boot up.
