How do I select the function OK without a television remote? I need to retune the tv (and have even bought a universal remote) but I still have to do it manually i.e. On the display itself. Tried every option, please help!

I guess there are many different ways to change the input without a remote control then, because I changed my input by pressing volume up THEN very quickly, channel down

I have a GPX and I also get to scan channel but idk how to make it scan I tried to press ok to start scan but didn't work what is the button you press to get it to take yes

On the JVC model HD-56G786...
In order to press “ok” without a remote, I had to hold the “menu” button on the right side of the TV, and while holding press both volume buttons at the same time.

What if button on bottom no buttons on the side?
What if the menu button is the same as one of the volume buttons?

Looking at the user manualfor your series TV you need the remote control unit or a universal remote to do most of the functions on the TV including setup.

I have a alba Freeview/dvd TV. Lost the remote. How do I change channels, on the side there is an on/off button, volume +/- buttons and one to change modes(TV/dvd etc). Got a universal remote but won't work!!!!!!! HELP

What is the model number of the TV?
Looking at a few of the user guides linked there are program channel up and down buttons. You just press them and the channel should change. You would need to press more times to step through each of the stored channels in the TV in the order that they were first stored, to get to the one that you want.
Did you enter the correct TV code into the universal remote?
I had to autoprogram channels on my Emerson TV without a remote. First, press menu and then follow the up and down commands. Next, press the volume and menu buttons at the same time to signify, “OK” or “Select”. That’s what worked for me so I hope that helps someone else!

Neither of these options work, and programming a universal remote control is useless. The codes do not enable the use of the OK button which is critical to the OTA programming of the HD-56FH9* Model JVC TV. This seems to be a collosally huge oversight by JVC, their imbedded buttons on the side of the TV are just as worthless as the the engineers who made this mistake.
So to JVC I say WTF
