Says "Paper Jam" but no jam is present.
My Epson Artisan 1430 worked perfectly for about a year then stopped. The Ink and Paper Feed lights are both flashing and the Epson driver/software says I have a paper jam. Here's the message I'm getting:
1. Cancel all print jobs.
2. Open the printer cover and remove any jammed paper.
3. Close the cover and turn the power off and then on again.
There is absolutely no paper jam. I've tried unplugging it, rebooting - nothing helps.
I cannot get the ink head to unlock so I can't use a method suggested by others.
I now have a very expensive printer that worked for only a year.
Any suggestions - other than send it back to Epson for repair?

Mine just did this also. I put through a piece of cardstock yesterday and it made a funny noise. I printed one regular sheet after that. today, I get this message, but this is not the first problem I have with this printer, Epson 2700. The cyan ink got plugged up and stopped all color printing after only about 50 sheets. A full tank, but won't work. Very disappointed in this printer

my epson 405 has been good until couple of months ago, i always used the correct genuine inks even though they are expensive and it has now decided to tare paper up and make a cranking noise as paper starts to feed ready for printing. i have removed all paper, restarted, unplugged, but no joy. They probably have a lifespan so that they run out just after the warranty period!! as do so many items nowadays!

Similar problem but with Epson XP410 head was locked as previous commenter but now it not and a get the paper jamb error. Using after market ink they always seem fiddly to use when replacing

Here is what I have discovered with my Epsom printer (3640)
If I choose iPrint from my phone every print gets paper jammed but if I choose Epson print if prints with no issues at all.
I have stuck a label on my printer to jog my
Memory as I don’t print often.
